Calcium-rich, low-carb, vegan milk product
Hello Readers,
I hope this blog post finds you well.
I came across a non-dairy milk product that might be of interest.
It is loaded with calcium (although not that much Vitamin D) and is low-carb and vegan.
It's an almond and coconut blended milk--nice flavor.
You can read more about it from today's featured photos--scroll down to see the nutrition information:
All the best to you,
Faye
Wow, that does deliver mega calcium--460 mg in a cup compared to the 300/cup I get in Silk soy milk, which is what I normally drink. I might try it sometime. I've always found almond milk to be too thin for my taste, but maybe the coconut milk brings the body. The Silk soy milk also has more protein per cup (7 g) and 2 g of fiber, plus something like 250 mg potassium.
ReplyDeleteI wish Silk would offer their plant milks in smaller-sized containers so I could try them w/o committing to a half-gallon.
I need to find a way to be notified when people comment. Pardon the delay in responding to your comment, Lisa. I, too, have found most almond milk lacking. Silk soy milk has benefits, no doubt. In terms of the almond/coconut blend, I recently found a type that can be stored outside the refrigerator (until opened) by Blue Diamond/Almond Breeze. Its almondmilk/coconut blend, unsweetened, original. However, the Silk Almond and Coconut (featured in the photo on my blog) is a bit richer tasting. I, too, wish Silk offered their products in smaller containers.
ReplyDeleteOh, I found the off-the-shelf brand at Common Ground Food Coop.
