Sardines Bryan's way

Hi there all you sardine fans and those, like me, who are acquiring a taste for them.

My nephew Bryan sent me his recipe for sardines.  He likes them from the can (as do some of you) and adds turmeric, black pepper (for anti-inflammatory benefits), and capers.  I gave the recipe a try (see featured photo) and it was the first time I've enjoyed eating sardines! Oh, actually, I forgot to include the black pepper and it still tasted great.

Be well.

  1. Capers make anything taste better.

    1. At least, that's what I think. However, I suppose some -- even you sometimes, Faye? -- don't necessarily like them (or other tangy or savory items). I feel the same way about olives; while I don't want them on everything, I feel they generally improve the taste of just about anything . . . but don't some think them too briny (if that's the right word)?

I guess it's like cilantro. Some just love it, but it's not for me, though I can stand it better than Faye, I think.

  3. Aunt Faye I am glad to see you tried the sardines with capers and it helped you enjoy them! The black pepper component is supposed to help with turmeric absorption which is why I like adding it in.

    1. I have started adding black pepper as a staple in many recipes. Thanks, again, Bryan.

  4. Thanks Faye and Bryan. I haven't had sardines in a long time, but I will definitely try this recipe.
